No matter how hard we tried, no matter where we looked, we could only scrape together sixteen puny degrees. That’s nowhere near enough. Who’s hoarding them, where are they hiding? Come on, cough ‘em up.
Seriously, there’s a severe shortage in case you haven’t noticed. But how could you not? An icicle was hanging from the outdoor grill. A skinny one, kind of stunted, but an icicle just the same. Before Thanksgiving. Ladies and gentlemen, this does not bode well for the cold, grim months ahead. Not well at all.
This is the early onset of disaster, isn’t it?
Well, never mind, let’s not speculate. Let’s think lovely thoughts and forget about the harsh miseries winter has in store. Thanksgiving is nearly upon us, so we’ll focus on our blessings, on the good things in our lives. After all, this is the time to be grateful for the many bountiful gifts bestowed upon us. Family and friends, the comfort of home and, m-m-mmm, the traditional feast: turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie.
Although, it will be hard to enjoy this year. With chattering teeth! Turn up the damn degrees, already.
