busy, busy, busy

reclinerContrary to appearances, I haven’t been sitting on my hands. It probably looks that way because I’ve fallen behind in posting, but I swear I’ve been hard at work. Harder than I want to be at any rate.

I’ve been working on ideas for a business card. Design, to my everlasting regret, isn’t my strong suit — I’m not sure what is, just what isn’t. Instead of basic design skills, useful things like typography and spatial intelligence, I was granted an extra helping of bad judgment. Discriminating and tasteful are overdone, anyway. Homely, now, that stands out. It has impact. Most curiously of all, it gets noticed.

Okay, now that I’ve lowered your expectations, I’m ready to present my very amateurish attempts to look professional:

What do you think? I initially had five, cut those down to three, then two, had a flash of inspiration (or dyspepsia) and was back to three. I’ve been stuck there for days, weeks. So I’m turning to you for help. Please help me narrow the field by voting for the concept of your choice. Thank you.

  1. I’d go with Splash as well. I do think the image on the left is a little unbalanced; I’d either go horizontal for that side (puddle on the left), or try some different positions for the components.
